The successful applicant will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

· In-depth knowledge of ECSS, ISO and ASTM requirements would be desirable;

· Knowledge of Product Assurance requirements for Space application (ECSS Standards);

· Must have experience of supporting multiple engineering teams and suppliers;

· Must have experience of problem resolution within an engineering environment;

The key responsibilities are as follows:

· Implementation of a product assurance plan on project basis.

· Participation into design reviews and inspections points

· Ensuring that the quality requirements included within the Project Statement Of Work are taken into account

· Proactively seek to ensure that preventive actions are taken account of for known quality issues thus avoiding repetitive problems

· Negotiating with external Customers and suppliers regarding quality standards/requirements, waivers, deviations, etc.

· Will act where necessary as a single point contact for the resolution of all quality matters and ensure the inputs of Materials Engineering, EEE parts and other specialist disciplines are taken account of.

· Reviewing Company Standards and proposing changes where necessary to update working processes and to ensure that all equipment documents and drawings are signed by the relevant disciplines before signing and approving them for the configuration Control Board

· To maintain within the project adequate records to ensure that easy reference is available for monitoring past and present procedural or technical problems.

· To undertake audits which assess whether all quality requirements have been addressed and have been (or planned to be) incorporated into the design solution. Random project/product audits will also be conducted to establish optimization of processes and systems.

· Support to all disciplines in the creation of suitable, useful metrics, to measure effectiveness and to form a basis of improvement activities.

· Participating into Non Conformance Review Boards and addressing the curative and corrective actions required.

Main responsibilities/assignments:

• Control and coordinate the project activities with management of the internal and external resources.
• Manage formal relations with Customer and subcontractors/suppliers for what concern programmatic aspects.
• Monitor and control all technical and programmatic activities with respect to the project schedule and the SOW and implement work around solutions in order to recover possible schedule shift of the activities.

• Periodic review of the project budget, considering actual cost, performed tasks & actual schedule, including annual cost plans and workforce planning, identifying potential problem areas and proposing remedial action.
• Managing projects on all activities related to project cost, schedule and risk. This includes preparation of work breakdown structure, scheduling, maintaining of configuration and documentation
• Supporting in financial matters and general project administration and in the verification of progress control and geographical return
• Supporting the preparation, procurement and monitoring of complex procurement actions, from tendering to closure of contract, and for management, financial and planning aspects.
• Performing negotiations with industrial contractors and supporting the project team in various programmatic aspects and provide the necessary elements for management decision-making.
• Organize and attend contractual meetings/reviews, as well as regular progress meetings with Customer and sub-contractors/suppliers.
• Preparation and negotiation of CCN if necessary.

Required technical skills/competences:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or relevant discipline.
• Experience in the application of project management, project control principles and advanced project control techniques are essential.
• The ability to summarize complex information and having the ability to prepare reports, dashboards and KPIs.
• The position will be involved in several projects simultaneously, hence good planning, prioritization and interpersonal skills are key soft skills.
• Knowledge and/or understanding of space systems architecture and engineering experience in a project or programme will be an asset.
• Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and solve problems effectively.
• Teamwork skills.

A professional level of the English language (oral and written) is required. Other European languages are beneficial but not necessary.

Join our dynamic team at S.A.B. Aerospace! We are looking for a Spacecraft System Engineer to be based at the Benevento headquarters.

Main responsibilities/assignments:

• Definition of specific mechanical/structural requirements derived from Customer high level ones.
• Support concept/trade studies in coordination with System Engineering to support architectural basic choices.
• Definition of mechanical architecture
• Perform design and analyses tasks supporting product development activities on metallic and composite structures, taking into account manufacturability and integration constraints.
• System Engineering development lifecycle and change management process.
• Support the Project Manager in the technical coordination of a multidiscipline engineering team for design, integration and testing
• Preparation of Procurement Specifications for structures systems and subsystems.
• Technical follow-on of structures procurement up to delivery (i.e. Subcontractors management).
• Engineering support to development and qualification of manufacturing processes for mechanical hardware.
• Support to hardware integration and final testing.
• Support and provide input to test plans and preparation of test specifications for mechanical tests (static and dynamic).
• Support to Quality Assurance for discussion and disposition of NCRs affecting mechanical parts during manufacturing, integration and testing activities.
• In collaboration with team members, develop interface specifications and other design documents.
• Lead customer and integrated team meetings and facilitate technical exchanges.
• Assist with program management, schedule tracking, and product management.
• Effectively work and communicate with all levels of management and team member contributors on the program.

Required technical skills/competences:

• Master Degree (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or comparable qualifications
• At least 3 years relevant professional working experience in the space industry.
• Knowledge of structural main requirements and relevant solutions for Space Station manned modules, Satellites and Launcher Adapters / Dispensers
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and techniques relevant to structure/mechanical constituents
• Hand calculation skills / methods and Engineering judgment.
• Result-oriented approach to work in a multidisciplinary project environment.
• Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and solve problems effectively.
• Ability to prepare technical documentation, reports.
• Team work skills.
