Join our dynamic team at S.A.B. Aerospace! We are looking for a Mechanical System Engineer to be based at the Benevento headquarters.

Main responsibilities/assignments:

  • Definition of specific mechanical/structural requirements derived from Customer high level ones.
  • Support concept/trade studies in coordination with System Engineering to support architectural basic choices.
  • Definition of mechanical architecture
  • Perform design and analyses tasks supporting product development activities on metallic and composite structures, taking into account manufacturability and integration constraints.
  • System Engineering development lifecycle and change management process.
  • Support the Project Manager in the technical coordination of a multidiscipline engineering team for design, integration and testing
  • Preparation of Procurement Specifications for structures systems and subsystems.
  • Technical follow-on of structures procurement up to delivery (i.e. Subcontractors management).
  • Engineering support to development and qualification of manufacturing processes for mechanical hardware.
  • Support to hardware integration and final testing.
  • Support and provide input to test plans and preparation of test specifications for mechanical tests (static and dynamic).
  • Support to Quality Assurance for discussion and disposition of NCRs affecting mechanical parts during manufacturing, integration and testing activities.
  • In collaboration with team members, develop interface specifications and other design documents.
  • Lead customer and integrated team meetings and facilitate technical exchanges.
  • Assist with program management, schedule tracking, and product management.
  • Effectively work and communicate with all levels of management and team member contributors on the program.

Required technical skills/competences:

  • Master Degree (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or comparable qualifications
  • At least 3 years relevant professional working experience in the space industry.
  • Knowledge of structural main requirements and relevant solutions for Space Station manned modules, Satellites and Launcher Adapters / Dispensers
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and techniques relevant to structure/mechanical constituents
  • Hand calculation skills / methods and Engineering judgment.
  • Result-oriented approach to work in a multidisciplinary project environment.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to prepare technical documentation, reports.
  • Team work skills.

 A professional level of the English language (oral and written) is required. Other European languages are beneficial but not necessary.

We are seeking a talented Thermal Engineer/Analyst to join our team, supporting the development of the Thermal Control System (TCS), its subsystems, and components for satellites, payloads, instruments, and mechanisms. The candidate will operate inside our Thermal Department and will interface with the agencies and customers. Peculiar communication skills, pro-active attitude in facing and solving problems and inclination to team working are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in the development of the Thermal Control System (TCS), its subsystems, and components for satellites, payloads, instruments, and mechanisms.
  • Definition and management of trade-offs to support architectural basic choices. Perform concept studies and detailed TCS sizing and design verification.
  • Models build-up and execution of thermal analyses using ESATAN-TMS.
  • Model and analysis results validation with classical hand calculations.
  • Acquire, understand, and keep track of assigned technical requirements.
  • Simulation and supervision of thermal tests, such as thermal vacuum and thermal balance tests, of satellites and their components. Provide support to establish test plans. Perform test predictions, test evaluations and correlations.
  • Documentation of all activities, mathematical models, thermal analysis, and test results by the redaction of specific reports.
  • Preparation of Procurement Specifications for TCS

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or comparable qualifications
  • Solid understanding of thermal fundamentals and demonstrated skills in thermal analysis (conduction, convection, and radiation loads).
  • Excellent knowledge of English language (spoken and written)
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with emphasis on MS Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Base experience with programming/coding/scripting (FORTRAN, python, MATLAB), to enhance and automate thermal analysis processes.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Candidate's availability for short work trips, either in Italy or abroad, is required
  • Have good skills in practical problem solving.
  • Candidate shall be proactive, autonomous and should have good organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for the team environment.
  • Familiarity with ESATAN-TMS is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ECSS Standards is preferred.

We are looking for a new Mechanism Engineer with a background in Space Robotics engineering and with heritage on mechanism design, development and testing.

Mechanism Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Specification of subsystems/equipment technical requirement.
  • Design and verification of control systems (Matlab/Simulink environment) based on electric actuators, and sensors.
  • Mechanism Design, from the concept definition to the detailed design to be developed by the team.

SAB Aerospace s.r.l. is seeking a Senior structural analyst (m/f) to work in our Headquarter in Benevento (Campania Region, Italy).

Responsibilities/assignments:

  • Structural design and verification of space systems/subsystems starting from specified requirements;
  • FE models preparation and check;
  • Setup and execution of static/dynamic analysis with the application of thermo-mechanical loads;
  • Results interpretation and validity confirmation;
  • Design optimization in close cooperation with the other disciplines involved in the project (CAD, thermal, electronics dpt);
  • Test verification of the hardware designed;
  • Reporting of the work to the client during meetings and official project reviews.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering or in a relevant technical discipline;
